Not a very good observation. The phenomenon of sector underperformance is widespread and has nothing to do with GS specifically. Just look at the Financial sector at large and the small cap sector. All show the same pattern. That is far more of a potential "tell" than GS.

Right now the markets are very choppy and lazy and low volume. Range and consolidation patterns abound. There is no way to know the direction of the eventual break but my guess is to the downside. Still the best think to do now is wait on the sidelines. But it sure has been boring! Patience is a virtue especially in a trader!
