Larry Katz has been in the financial services business for nearly 26 years. He began his career as a financial consultant at a number of major brokerage firms. It is there that he began using technical analysis finding it a far better way to service his client base. In the early 1990’s he was hired by a small Los Angeles Brokerage firm as director of technical research. In 1995 he began publishing his flagship news letter, Market Summary and Forecast. Larry is an acknowledged expert in the Elliott Wave theory, which he combines with an array of momentum and sentiment indicators in determining the current and future outlook for the stock, bond and gold markets. Larry has served on the management committee for the Market Technicians Association from 1999-2003. In 2004 he along with four others worked to form the American Association of Professional Technical Analysts (AAPTA). He served on the board from 2004 to 2006 and is currently head of the membership committee. Larry has been very active over the years as a speaker at numerous technical seminars. Most recently he was a guest speaker at the Los Angeles Money Show and at the Market Technicians Association Los Angeles Chapter. He has also recently begun a regular series of interviews with Steven Vincent’s The Bull/Bear report (www.thebullbear.com). He was a regular guest with Richard Saxton on the Los Angeles based business channel for several years prior to them going off the air in early 2000. Over the years he has spoken to such diverse groups as the Market Analysts of Southern California, the Omega users group of both Los Angeles and Orange county as well as Market Technicians Association Atlanta Chapter. He also ran a work shop at the 1999 Market Technicians Association annual conference in 1999 at Manhattan Beach California on Elliott Wave. He was also a speaker at the 2004 inaugural conference for The American Association of Professional Technical Analysts (AAPTA). It was there in October of that year that he forecasted that the S&P would move below its 2003-2004 low and do so in 2008.
